While driving to Canberra on an overcast and rainy day, I made a stop on the southern side of Lake George, hoping to capture the moody atmosphere. To get a better vantage point, I climbed up a hill, carefully navigating the damp terrain, which offered a stunning elevated view of the vast lake and surrounding landscape.
As I set up for the shot, a heavy rain shower moved through the distance, creating a dramatic contrast between the dark, brooding clouds and the golden hues of the fields below. The misty veil of rain softened the horizon, adding depth and a sense of scale to the image. I framed the shot to balance the rugged hillside on the left with the open plains on the right, leading the eye toward the shimmering lake and the distant wind turbines barely visible through the haze.
