Taken from Sublime Point Lookout near Wollongong, this image captures the coastal city stretching towards the horizon as afternoon showers drifted just offshore. The scene was a mix of shifting light and shadows, with patches of sunlight breaking through the heavy cloud cover, adding depth and contrast to the landscape.
Wanting to capture both the vastness of the coastline and the texture of the approaching weather, I opted for a composition that layered the dense forest in the foreground against the sprawling city below. The dynamic sky added a moody atmosphere, and converting the image to black and white in post-processing further emphasized the contrast between the dramatic clouds and the detailed landscape.
