After a relentless 72-hour downpour that brought over 120mm of rainfall to Canberra, the city's waterways swelled with fast-moving currents. I captured this image at one of the riverways, the sheer force of nature was on full display. The churning foam and rapid flow of the water conveyed the raw power unleashed by the storm, a reminder of how quickly landscapes can transform in the wake of extreme weather.
To take this photo I positioned myself at the rivers edge, carefully making sure I wouldn't slip on the wet rocks. Using a fast shutter speed, I froze the action, highlighting the speed and turbulence of the floodwaters.
